Good chinese food.
The food and service were ahead of my expectations. I surely loved the ambience of this restaurant. Amazing restaurant to take the family out for dinner.
Best Chinese food in the neighborhood. And the staff goes out of the way to make connections. I am going there for over 20 years and can say "my usual please".
Food is not good, some of the worst Chinese food I've had.
I get to eat here a lot since I work right next to it. I got to say the customer service is always good and they keep the place neat at all times. Rates are convenient and they serve generous portions.
Excellent food. Wide and varied menu. Not just the typical Chinese-American fare. Service was prompt, and efficient.
The best Chinese restaurant in the area. Staff is friendly and helpful with suggesting dishes. Consistent and reliable, I just wish they would bring back their amazing short rib dish! They do an excellent lion's head dish, very tasty and hearty.
The food is very authentic and good. Everything I have had here has been delicious! My rating is 4 stars and not 5, because the service is not consistent and the furniture is old and not updated.
Terrible food. Never come back again.
Worst place i have in the area. Took $20 tip for a lunch menu and that to after stopping me at the exit door.
I want to eat here if you paid me too I’ve tried in the past and every time I have I get food poisoning exactly 6 hours later.
The biggest issue that I have with Lotus is the cost, they charge too much for what you get. The food is pretty standard, nothing too crazy. I love general T chicken, and theirs is actually pretty good. Wish they had dinner combos.
This review is during corona and therefore service is limited to pick up or delivery only. I made a big order (some to stock up in the freezer!) off of google.com and it was delivered by DoorDash. Estimated time was 45-60 min but it was less than 45. DoorDasher called on the way to confirm the location. I said pls do contactless delivery and just drop off and go. The Dasher has on gloves and mask! I was very pleased.
Had take out tonight, first time I've had their food. Excellent! Ordered one dish (eggplant stuffed with chicken and pork) from the 'authentic' part of the menu and one (General Tso's chicken) from the not authentic part and both were delicious! The eggplant was fried in a VERY light coating and the flavors all blended beautifully. I also ordered a dessert I've never had (banana with red bean), also fried in the light coating and sprinkled with a little sugar, yummy. It was easy to order online, they followed my instructions on how hot (spicy) to make the entrees, and you pick a time to pick up. I didn't see anyone at the door so I called and they brought my order out immediately. The girl was masked and stayed far away. The only thing I would say is that they don't state on the menu that certain things are fried, like the eggplant and the dessert. So if you can't eat fried food, maybe best to call and ask or order Thai noodles. Can't wait to try those!!
The pros are the wonton soup was good and the woman at the front counter was nice. The rest of the food was very bland. The chow mein had flavorless sauce and a lot of zucchini. There was no mustard in my bag, but luckily I had some leftover at home to spice it up to be edible. The sweet and sour sauce was thick and rich, but the pork was chewy and there were large chunks of pepper and onion, including a few pieces of the papery outside layers. They likely are trying to cut costs by including so many veggies in a meat dish. Fried rice also lacked flavor. I get not making it too greasy, but I was disappointed.
This place was awesome. I just had dinner there with my boyfriend and the food was absolutely incredible and delicious. Would definitely eat there again. 🎊
Food was just ok. A little tasteless. Wonton in soup was cold in the center
Loyal patron here! In addition to the typical American-Chinese fare, their range of authentic Chinese food is so much yummier. Bring a Chinese friend with you to get the full experience if possible. If not, the employees are always warm and helpful when asked about recommendations. Bathrooms could benefit from an update ;)
Food was ok. Service was good. Sweet and sour pork had a lot of onions. We also had ice cream at the end. Ordered the dinner combination for $13.99.
Authentic style meals as well as traditional American style as well. Both delicious. I was delighted to find this place when I moved to the area.
The Daikon radish pickle & seaweed salad appetizer is a must try. The Singapore rice noodle with shrimp was ok but a little salty. Overall I will eat at Lotus Garden again..
Pork chop is the best.
Lotus Garden serves ok Chinese food at reasonable prices.
They have lunch special, but the dish is a little small.
Love this place the delivery is quick And the food is amazing I highly recommend the beef and broccoli
Terrible the dumplings don’t even taste like dumplings they taste like dirty dishwater.
Very good lo mein and sesame chicken I also ordered the beef and broccoli and it was delicious!
I love this place. Excellent food and service! I always visit this place whenever I am at Princeton area for the last 12+years!
Good food, place has been here for decades. Nice atmosphere.
Excellent schichuan and spicy food. Loved the fish in schichuan sauce. Popcorn chicken appetizer was very flavorful and crab Rangoon was tasty as well.
Food okay. Service is good. The beef noodle soup is way too salty.
Ordered $60 in food. It has to be the most bland Chinese food I've ever had. I would not waste your money. Service was fast though.
Standard well prepared Chinese food
I did try Sichuan food, but Cantonese is pretty good.
The place offers a nice range of fresh food. I enjoyed eating here. Employees are always very friendly, prices are convenient and the place is always clean.
This is our favorite Chinese restaurant in this area. We like the authentic food, fast service, convenient location, and reasonable price. Our favorite dishes include beef noodle soup, fried pork chops Taiwan style, shredded pork with dry bean curd, sauteed lotus root, striped bass casserole (soup), and stir fry fresh green leaves of any kind. The food is reliably good. You can request for less salty and spicy if you like it light.
Great place for authentic Chinese dish. We visited this place for dinner and were served complimentary seaweed salad appetizer and coconut milk congee as desert. The braised beef noodle soup, meat dumpling and lo mein were all great tasting with generous portion. Staff has no non-sense mannerism but overall had great experience. I recommend this place.
Excellent and authentic Szechuan styled cuisine in the Plainsboro area. Highly recommended and tasty cuisine, certainly, as I am a huge foodie, and have travelled to Hong Kong and Singapore, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, and Malaysia... taste and flavours are fantastic
You can order really quite awesome, authentic (and spicy!) Chinese food off the menu or chalkboard of specials. They do make judgements about what utensils or rice you're likely to want, but it's fairly easy to correct these if you are insistent.
First time knew this place was 20 years ago. Fit for all events, small family dinner out, large group friends gathering. Lotus Garden, will be the best pick every time when can’t decide where to eat. A place with no surprises, no disappointments but trust. No dishes will be wasted, from appetizer to main entree to free dessert.
The dumping taste very artificial too me. and the WonTon soup also.
A Great place to eat moon the owner is the best anything you need ask her she is formally of Peking Pavilion
It’s was ok. But not too bad either
The food here is delicious
Went in there with my kids to order takeout. 1st order came out immediately but second order would take extra 15mins. The kids sat down briefly to eat and were told to get up because that was a service fee to dine there. This makes no sense. The food was also horrible and overpriced! Find a better option in the area
Alright, here is my review on lotus garden. Food:The food actually isn't bad at all, although it's a bit pricey, it's filling, and has a nice, rich flavor.Service: I know other reviewers have said that the service is good, but for us, it was pretty bad. We had to ask Everytime for the food to come, it never came to us. When we got our crab Rangoons, the dude put the utensil we use to grab it(forgot the name) on the table. How can we use it then? Also, they forgot to take things sometimes, which wasnt too big of a deal.Cleanliness:The restaurant is clean, and so is the bathroom. Nothing else much to say.Overall:I would say the food is great, but I would recommend getting takeout instead of dine in.
One of the best Chinese restaurants in the Princeton area. There's good reason why it's been around so long.
Drove almost 1 1/2 hours to come here the server was a absolute blast and probably one of the most lively server I have seen the fried wontons were out of this world and other food was spiced to perfection. I will say that it was well worth the 1 1/2 drive for it 10/10
Below average food at above average prices. The spicy shrimp and spicy beef were very sweet and not spicy at all. A bunch of flies hovering around the table also added to a very disappointing dining experience.
A pretty standard Chinese restaurant. Authentic Chinese dishes are delicious and well priced, and it's a great place to eat for large groups. 'American' Chinese food there is pretty mediocre however. Staff are really attentive with water refills and such. This is the place to go if you're looking for authentic Chinese food and I recommend it for that.
